This afternoon, the MTA’s monthly board meeting erupted with frustrated many Access-A-Ride customers voicing their complaints about the service.
Over twenty public speakers, far above the normal amount, were in attendance at the meeting. Almost all of them were there to speak about issues and incidents they have had with Access-A-Ride, the MTA’s paratransit mobility service. There were so many members of the public trying to speak that some had to wait until the end of the meeting to go to the podium. In response to the tense situation, MTA Acting Chairman Fernando Ferrer announced that the authority would have a presentation ready for the June board meeting about the current state of the Access-A-Ride service.
